I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it, but this is just a happy story I want to share with all of you.

About 3 months ago, at the apartments where my grandmother lives, a woman who owns a cat broke her hip. Since then, she has been in the hospital and more recently, a nursing home. And no one has really taken care of her cat, Louie. The woman's daughter came to feed it once or twice a week, and all day this cat would sit in the window and beg for the smallest amount of attention from the other senior citizens who live there. It was really a sad sight to see.

Anyways, my Grandma just lost her beautiful baby cat back in Feburary, and she has been depressed since. She heard about this cat, and she OFFERED to take it until the old woman in the nursing home comes back. Wow, I never expected that! And earlier today my grandma took Louie in...
Now my grandmother is not lonely anymore, and neither is the cat.

Also, it turned out that the cat was used to attention, and it also had a urinary tract problem, and it required him to have special food, EVERY OTHER DAY. The poor thing must of been so lonely in the closed up apartment for 2 months.

Though it is not that big of a deal, I thought I would share this little story with y'all, because it really brightened both the cat, and my grandmother's lives.

i have a hiding place
it is a big deal, these kind, generous gestures shared
between human beings, makes the horrible, sad stories
hopeful, let's us see not only the bad things, but also the
beautiful stories as well; lends room for hope.
i think this is the best place for a story such as yours.

thanks for sharing that, Chris, it definitley made my heart
swell, and my day brighten.

Yes, it is nice to know there are people out there who care. It helps when you see such awful things every day! Thank you for sharing.

Well, it's going fine between Louie and my Grandma. Though a little wild and agressive at times, Louie is turning out to be a very affectionate and playful cat. He sleeps right next to my grandmother every night, and sometimes he cuddles right next to her face and purrs. What a sweet cat.

I've went over to visit him about 4 or 5 times so far, but he has not adjusted to me at all, yet.
He's sniffed me a lot, but is weary of me touching him, so far. And if I pet him for too long (usually a minute or so) he will try to scratch me!!! He also tries to scratch my grandma sometimes; but he is still getting to know all of us.

His old owner claims he is 13 years old, but he doesn't look or play like he is. Personally, I think he is around 7 or 8 years old. He's got a lot of long, happy years left.
