My 10 month old Kitten is called Ziggy. Nearly 2 months ago she disappeared for a whole day, (she usually only goes out for a couple of hours) She's very friendly with a Tom who lives nearby.

Anyway, She's now pregnant but I don't know if she mated at that time.

Over the last few weeks she has got massive, and last Sunday I noticed that the kittens were kicking. (I wasn't really sure if she was actually pregnant before that so I never really looked out for it until Sunday when I was looking at her and thinking about it.) Its now the following Saturday and nothings happened except that she's been sleeping loads on my bed.

So, the question is: Roughly how much longer do I have to wait, and do you think shes chosen my bed to do it on?

The momma cats I've had have all delivered within 10-14 days after the babies became most active. I remommend setting up a large dog crate for her to have them in. I started confining my girls about 2 weeks before delivery, when I couldn't supervise them, just so they'd get used to their nest and be comfortable there. Keeps them and the babies safe, and keeps your bed clean!

Check her often for discharge. She'll probably have a whitish discharge for a few days to a week before delivery, but right before she goes into labor she'll lose her mucous plug. In my girls that was a pinkish color, and they all delivered right around 12 hours after losing that. But if she's cleaning herself a lot, you may not see that. If you see a greenish discharge or if it has a bad odor, take her to the vet immediately.
If she'll let you, you can try taking her temperature. Take it every day around the same time and get an idea of what her "normal" temperature seem sto be. When it starts to drop, you're getting close. I've heard that once it drops below 99, they'll deliver within 24-48 hours. My girls would never let me take their temps... yours may or may not allow it.

In general just look out for a change in behavior, excessive "nesting" behaviors, stuff like that. My girls always got extremely affectionate and wouldn't let me leave their side. Change in appetite may or may not occur... a lot of articles say that they'll stop eating within a day of giving birth. But one of my foster kitties actually ate her food in between delivering the kittens!

Just wondering why you would let her out at all if she isn't spayed?

My Lily was sleeping on my bed 24/7 for about a week and a half before she had the babies...I concluded she was just more comfortable there.

Maybe they don't mind kittens? I'm not getting my cats fixed for that very reason, I'm fine with kittens.

Do you guys live in an area where there isn't any cat overpopulation, or something? Because in my area, they're euthanizing kittens in the shelters because there are too many of them; and if you wanted kittens, you could just go to the shelters and get some, or a pregnant momcat (who'd probably be euthanized too).

I wanted her to have one litter of kittens, then she'll be spayed. There isn't really overpopulation in my area and everyone wants them.
