Hi Everyone. This is my first post here and it's a bit of a panicky one. I bought a bag of Nature's Variety Raw Frozen rabbit today, took it right home and forgot to put it in the freezer. I realized this about 2 hours after I got home. By this time, of course, the medallions were already softening up. My question is, are they ruined after being out of the freezer for so long, or are they still safe to feed my cat? I don't have too many options right now. He's out of food otherwise and all the stores are closed by now, but I don't want to give him a bacteria-laden dinner. Anyone have any advice?
It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have no idea how long they can be left out safely--what does the bag say? You might try blanching it by dropping it in boiling water for a few seconds so that any bacteria on the surface (where it would be most thawed) would be killed. Then you could call the company in the morning to get their advice. If you've used the medallions before, you could also smell them to see if the smell "off."

Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll leave some out to thaw in the fridge overnight, as usual and see how they smell in the morning. If my nose isn't reassured, I'll call the vet and see what he says.
Thanks again.
