Ok, not really, but John isn't exactly on my good side right now. There's a limited amount of various types of food in the house, which isn't his fault.. his parents buy the food. And I don't mind in the least way. But I've had hot dogs for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a few days and I'm getting sick of it! He gets awesome breakfast and lunch anywhere he pleases while he's at work. Today he sent me a message and told me he had leftover rice from the Chinese place that he'd bring me home for dinner tonight so I didn't have to have hot dogs.
He gets home, tells me he forgot the Chinese in the refrigerator at work. Ok, whatever. Then his mom gets out of the truck with a big bag of McDonalds. I asked him where mine was... he said "oh, I told her we'd just have hot dogs"
. I'm absolutely starving and I refuse to eat another hot dog! I hate them in general but I'll eat them if I absolutely have to (if there's nothing else in the house). So I pulled $50 out of my pocket and asked him if we could go get something to eat and I'd buy. "I don't feel like going anywhere, I want to get stuff done in the garage. Let's just eat hot dogs."
I'm sooo hungry right now with my choice of hot dogs, m&ms or stale potato chips. And no, I can't just drive myself to get food because it's his car and I'm not insured under it.

Tell him that you need a healthier diet. You can not survive on hot dogs only.

You guys REALLY need a place to yourself. There is NOTHING in the freezer you can cook up? Why don't you buy some of your own food?

Can you walk to a nearby restaurant?

I would be pissed. can you order take out or pizza? and maybe you should get a small refrigerator and put your own food in there. or at least some food in there so you don't have this problem.

Well, we're working on getting a place of our own. Hopefully by the end of this year, fingers crossed! I ended up finding some potatoes that were still good in one of the cabinets and made a baked potato. He finally told me the REAL reason he didn't want to go anywhere... apparently he's been sick to his stomach all day since stuffing himself full of Chinese food. Brat... can't ever admit to not feeling good.

And to answer the questions... we live in the middle of nowhere... pizza doesn't get delivered this far out and the closest restaurant is 6 miles away. That's a bit of a walk, lol. No, there was nothing in the freezer. I've been buying frozen dinners and keeping them around but ran out at the beginning of the week and didn't get paid till today (I work at home).

He's still getting the silent treatment though, lol.

Why not take the car and go and buy some groceries? Seems like you both work so you should be able to contribute to the groceries and not rely on his parents to buy them and you starve if they don't.

RI the littlest stop on the map..........
I take it you had to move in with this parents. I really don't remember your story but if I'm correct you had a problem with the house right Sorry Brain cramp...
I don't blame you for never speaking to him again
How can he expect you to eat hot dogs again first of all hot dogs aren't the best in nutrition you need more then that I like hot dogs I'll have one twice a month and thats because it's grilling season. It seems heart breaking that he won't take you to dinner or even pick up food for you..from what you wrote it you can't drive the car because your not on the insurance seems like he comes first I only say that because of you email I know he is your DH so I'm inclined to say how I really feel.

I hope things work out for you , go shopping buy what you like and DH don't share it with DH till he can be good

It almost sounds like you are describing my situation. I live with my boyfriends parents and there is like never any good food here. I also live out in the middle of nowhere and food can't get delivered here. My boyfriend eats out for lunch almost every day and I have to find something here, which is usually nothing good.

I have considered getting a small fridge for ourselves because my boyfriends dad likes to eat my food. I decided against it though because I thought maybe his parents would think we are being rude or something.
