My Coco (the 4 month old) was fine yesterday until about dinner time when I noticed her eye was a little red and it was leaking liquid. My husband and I figured one of my bigger cats may have scratched her in her eye. It's been leaking and it crusts over to where she can't open her eye. My husband had to clean her eye last night and this morning so that she could open it.

My Tokyo (the oldest) has been stalking her last night and if hubby didn't get up to go the bathroom Coco would have been under the TV stand all night. Sorry for going on, but I don't think my two older cats like Coco at all, but they accept Miso, the boy (3 months old).

Anyway...does an eye scratch cause eye problems like that? Looks like Coco is off to the vet tomorrow as well.

it is most likely just a side effect of the URI, they spread very quickly in a multi-cat home, I'd get everybody on the anit-biotics just to be safe. And as far as intro and acceptance go, I've found that females accept new males a lot quicker than they accept new females, you know how girls can be

The eye problem is resolved. The vet gave my Coco some eye wash and ointment to be put on her sick eye twice a day and it's clearing up.
I'm so happy!
