Being owned by an Oriental and a Cornish Rex cross I am well acquainted with the notion that nothing is going to end up where I left it unless it is nailed down.

Both of them will steal anything, Radar has a favourite hiding place under the sofa, and Sonic likes to put things in our bed under the covers (either he hasn't worked out that we will find things left there, or he enjoys booby-trapping the bed with household objects
)

The last few days though they have really taken the biscuit, and there are 2 incidents that are noteworthy.

1) We were away at the weekend and on Sunday I got a series of frantic text messages from my extremely shortsighted cat-sitter because the cats had stolen his glasses and were stalking and pouncing on him as he crawled around nearly-blind on his hands and knees feeling around on the floor for them. He found them in the foodbowl after about 3 hours of searching, so I know the culprit was Radar as he is a manic food-coverer.

2) Last night Nate came home with a Chinese take-away. He put the bag down on the floor, I went to the kitchen to fetch plates and chopsticks. Our backs were turned for around 10 seconds. When I returned to the sitting room the scene that greeted me was that of a young grey cat pulling a foil container full of spring rolls across the floor in his teeth. Backwards. With a look of utter determination on his face. He'd managed to get it half way across the room, and appeared to be heading for the bedroom with it.

How long will it be before I see their faces on the evening news under the words "WANTED"????

Are your cats thieves too? What have they stolen?

Oh no! The poor guy! I'm so glad he finally found them
I always said the worst catch-22 of glasses was that you need your glasses to find your glasses!

Our cats don't really steal things... now the dogs on the other hand... they should be locked up for grand theft!

Yes they take things. We have problems with anything that is shiny, because it will end up in the litter box or the food bowl.

That's hilarious! Rambo is my jewellry thief. Anything shiny disappears. I have so many single earrings left in my collection....sigh. I have no idea where he hides them, but i never find them!

That`s so funny!
I can`t leave my toothbrush on the bathroom counter for a second...Toby always comes running when he hears me brushing, jumps up on the counter to watch, and if I lay the brush down he`ll grab it and run. No cute little toothbrush holders for us. Ours have to go immeadiatly into a drawer.

Mosi is a notorious food thief. He steals food from the bags when I bring home food shopping if I turn my back for a moment. His best catch to date is a pack of 4 chicken breasts which he dragged under the bed and managed put teeth marks in every one. When I get home from work each day he has to check out my bag to see if there's anything worth taking. He has a very good plastic radar too and always finds plastic whether it be a bag or a plastic ring from a drink bottle. He eats it though so I have to be very careful that it's not left out. I recently made the mistake of leaving out a packet of natures menu treats. They were in a large carrier bag that was wrapped around them several times and the whole thing was tucked away behind the kettle in the corner of the kitchen. I forgot to put them away and returned from work to find an empty (but chewed) carrier bag and no sign of the treats. The next day I saw him running out from under the bed with the empty packet.

I have a jewel thief. Ari has taken necklaces from my dresser and dragged them to the hallway. Even tried to steal a necklace I was trying to photograph.

I'm sorry but stealing the glasses is too funny!
Now I'd be crawling around to find mine if they did that too though!

My RB girl Glory used to steal my lucky rabbits foot (no I would not own one of those now, but I did as a kid) from my jewelry box! Several times I found my jewelry box on the floor of my bedroom and that missing. She also liked to steal loli-pops. Why those I do not know!

Boog and Skip work together to steal stuff off the counters (that they are not allowed up on anyway.) One of them will get up and knock stuff down to the other one waiting on the floor. Then the two of them will sort through it, and decide who gets what.

Boog likes Chapstick. Once or twice he's managed to get the lids off, which makes for a not-so-nice find when Meowmy gets home.

Skippy likes pens. Those at least, are easy to find and pick up.
