I need to leave for work in an hour & really have no vehicle to drive. It's parked 5 miles away in town while lil sis rode with another friend 30 minutes away to go shopping. (She'll be back "when she feels like it")

She knew I had to work. She blew me off when I tried to talk to her last night. There is a note on the counter for her, from mom....with a list of things to do.

I swear, I could kick her silly sometimes!
She doesn't think!!! She has to ask everytime she drives a vehicle & she hasn't been. Then she gets huffy when I call her & chew her out! You couldn't drive the van who cannot make it to my workplace without dying the 5 miles?! It can go that far!!

I am beyond peeved. I had to ask one of dad's guys to bring one of the crewcabs home so I have something to drive. I hate leaving the truck with tools in it parked in a city, open for anyone to steal if they really felt like it!

Can you believe this girl is 16? Sad if this is what our population is coming to!

OK, rant over. I just had to get that out.

16 year olds just love to do whatever they want. I was that way. I grew out of it. I hope you make it to work on time.

You need to talk to your parents about what your sister is doing and let them know that you feel her behavior is unbecomming and unacceptable. She should not be allowed to drive at all if she is going to be that irresponsible. You could loose your job if you don't have transportaion to and from work- not only is your sister being rude, she's being selfish. Ohh want me to pop her one nat??

My parents know. They've been called & they're rather upset(my mom rarely swears & I heard some colorful things from her a little bit ago). Problem is, they're in the other car a couple of hours away for the day. Lil sis will be very very very sorry when they get home!

And Nikki, you're more than welcome to pop her one!

I've been getting mad text messges from lil sis, all saved for my parents to see. I feel evil telling "mommy & daddy", but it isn't her car(nor is it mine). Mom & dad say who drives what & she lives in their house so she can follow the rules. I have to, why shouldn't she?

The driving age needs to be 21
teens have NO buisiness behind the wheel. Especially with these cell phones and i-pods everywhere.

If it were my sibling and my car, she would be lucky to be a passenger.

Sorry, I hate little kids behind the wheel

Oh I'd be ticked! Beyond ticked! She is being somewhat normal for a 16 year old, at least like my step-sister's were, but it's time to grow up and be responsible. When I was her age I was taking my step-brother to work every day and he always got there on time! If I could be responsible enough to get my younger siblings where they needed to be when they needed to be there without having anyone look over my shoulder, she should be able to take care of her business and get your vehicle back to you when you need it!

I'm sorry but aren't you being a bit extreme? 21?

Anyway, to the point, I'm sorry your sis is doing this... it is VERY selfish of her. I hope you got to work on time. Hopefully, when mom and dad get home they will straighten things out.

I think maybe raise the driving age a little but not to 21 that would be very bad. Combining 2 milestone bdays in one...
Yea thats being selfish but at least your parents are angry at her. Maybe that will get it through her head! Hopefully things will get better!

For your information, I posted a poll in the IMO section. It is asking which age you think people should get their drivers license.

you have to have a certain number of posts/be a member for a certain length of time i believe or join the PL before you can post in the IMO forum i believe.
One of the mods might be able to answer that better than me though!

If I remember right (and I'm not a Mod, but I remember this), you have to have at least 100 posts... they don't want trolls going into IMO making a huge mess (we get riled up enough as it is w/o trolls)... so you have to show you're serious about being here. i.e. 100 posts. I've been an email list owner/moderator for years... so I understand it.

As for the OP... I was the little sister in my family, but I shared a car with my mom, not my sister (she liked cruising cars, like T-birds... I couldn't see over the dashboards). That said, I was never the one to hog a car from one who needed it. If i knew my mom needed the car after i was done at school, I didn't go goofing off... I went home. I showed my rebelliousness in other methods...

Oh she's evil, very very evil. And is deep kitty poo.....very very very deep. You should see the list of chores she's got....mom is up to number 68.
All well, I think she won't "forget" or "I didn't see the note" again!

The Grand Am is typincally the vehicle she drives & she's a unthinking, uncaring, brat. That's what it comes down to. She didn't even know that mom & dad were going to be gone all day, they told her multiple times the day before she didn't listen at all. I told her the night before I needed the Grand Am & she blew me off. That's why I was so dang peeved earlier! We all told her multiple times not to take the car & left her a note!

With all the cleaning & such she has to do tomorrow & Friday, she will have plenty of time to think about it!
to her!
