Do you use an umbrella when you go out in the rain?

It depends.
If it's not raining really hard, I don't bother. Also if I'm heading home, I'll sometimes just let myself get wet, knowing that I can get changed into warm and dry clothes when I get home and have a nice cup of tea to warm up.

The situation depends.

If its lightly raining and I don't have any computer equipment on me, then no.

If its lightly raining and I have computer equipment on me, yes. Yes for raining hard, even if its 2 feet to my car.

If its raining hard, I generally don't go out
but if I have to, then I use an umbrella. I use one if I'm going to work even if its raining light.

You can just share your umbrella with me, Rigel! Then you will not look like Mary Poppins!

Only when it's pouring or when I carry a non-nylon material purse.

Not usually! If I can wear a hooded jacket and it's raining hard enough I'll do that. If it's not raining so hard, usually I'm only going somewhere where I'll be outside briefly so I don't mind a few water drops.

Rarely. If it is raining hard enough to justify an umbrella, then it is usually too windy! I have a trench coat I use in the rain instead

We get plenty of rain here, but on the whole I find umbrellas more bother than they're worth. If it's really heavy and I'm going to have to walk a significant distance in it, then I'll use one -- provided it's not also windy -- at that point, why bother? But generally speaking, I figure I'm not sugar, so I won't melt.

I do use it unless it's thundering then I just stay where I am until it stops or I make a mad dash for it.
