Lol.

Any of you have some interesting facts that most people don't know?

The Humboldt Squid's body flashes different colored lights, several colors per second, to communicate. They have been found to be as large as 14 feet in length and weighing more than 700 pounds. They live in water up to 3,000 feet deep.

They have excellent problem-solving skills, are fiercely aggressive, hunt in packs of more than 1000, and can fly above the water for short distances to escape predators or catch prey. They have been known to snatch people from boats and devour them. Each squid has more than 24,000 teeth.

On the inside, they have three hearts that pump blue, copper-based blood. They can swim up to 24 mph, and are one of the fastest creatures in the ocean.

SCUBA, anyone?

'The term "dog days" has nothing to do with dogs. It dates back to Roman times, when it was believed that Sirius, the Dog Star, added its heat to that of the sun from July3 to August 11, creating exceptionally high temperatures. The Romans called the period dies caniculares, or "days of the dog."'

reptiles do not urinate either yet they produce a rather hard white substance called urates. When a reptile deficates it normally is a hard urate followed by a softer poop.

Actually, the Mythbusters busted this one in their 13th episode.

wikipedia
Daddy Long-Legs
Myth statement: A Daddy long-legs spider has the most potent venom of all spiders, but is unable to pierce human skin. \t
Status: Busted \t
Notes: A Daddy long-legs was able to bite through the skin of Adam's arm. He reported nothing more than a very mild, short-lived burning sensation. Analysis of the venom proves it does not approach the potency of the Black widow spider.

The earth is known to have a north and south pole. However, there exist three poles: The magnetic pole, geographic pole, and the pole for axis of rotation. None of these poles share exact geographic location. Also, the location of the magnetic pole is known to wander.

These are TV ones . I did a wikipedia search yesterday, my oldest wanted to know about the Sprouse brothers. They're the cute (in her words- not mine) kids on the Suite Life of Zach and Cody

<<In 2001, Cole Sprouse appeared in several episodes of the television show Friends, as Ross Geller's son Ben.>>

I did not know that- but I don't think I was watching Friends then.
And dd is NOT watching Friends just to see the kid she likes.

Did you also know (since I finished book 7 yesterday)

My inlaws were visiting, fil had to see 3 of the Harry Potter films. Did you know that the woman who plays Prof. McGonagall is also Mother Superior in Sister Act? Now I keep thinking of her in Hogworts wearing a nun's habit

And the actor who played Hagrid was also in the finale of Fraiser, he was Nile's finacee's brother. (that was from the Harry Potter Scene it game.)

I am a bit of a trivia buff so this thread is right up my alley.

Here are three sumwhat interesting trival facts.

Elephants are the only animals that have 4 knees, they can bend both their front and back legs.

The only man made structure that can be seen from outer space is the Great Wall of China.

And Vlad the Impaler ( Count Dracula) had a younger brother named Radu.
