Showing house cats

First of all I don't know if this is in the wrong place, if it is you can move it. Second, I just found out recently about being able to show house cats. I was wondering if anyone had any information about showing that I should know before considering doing it. Like:

What makes a good show cat?
How do I know if my cats would be good for showing?
What do they judge on the cat?(appearance, temperament?)

I show Tobie as a household pet (because he is not purebred) so feel free message me to ask questions. It's a lot of fun and once you get through your first show, it's a piece of cake! I had so many questions and the people here really helped me out.
