How long does it take for a post to apear whe you click new posts button as apose to visiting each forum, each time I make a new thread it doesn not show when I click new posts, is this normal?

Yes, because you have "read" your thread already, so it isn't a new post for you. Clicking "new posts" shows only ones that you haven't read. New posts show up instantly.
