I moved from sacramento three days ago (five hours drive-night in hotel sneaking in five cats-eight hours next day)and my thirteen year old baby rode in the cab, stressed the whole time (not enough carriers!!). About 24 hours later she pooed on a throw rug by the litter box, soft, yellowy stool, the last pass was coated with a clearish mucus and had a thimble sized drop of BLOOD! She also had more of the nasty clear stuff on her rear. She is indoor, could this have been caused by stress or a burst hemmorhoid or something?!?!?! Her latest bowels have been soft, but darker in color and more normal. I would have rushed her to the vet but I have no car (starving student). Any ideas?

I think this is stress but you should take the cat to the vet if it continues. It sounds like it is getting better though.

Some of the reasons blood occurs in stool:

ingesting food that is not normal for cats to eat, such as garbage, table scraps, also if she found a mouse and ingested that, this could be a contributing factor.
abrupt changes of diet without slowly introducing the food over a period of days- resulting in an allergy to diet
bacterial infection in the small intestine (worms and parasites)

inflammation of the pancreas
disease of the lymph system
other metabolic disorders affecting the larger intestines

These last three will produce more blood than you posted about seeing.
