Has anyone else seen these "Pet Spa" machines that supposedly wash your dog or cat for you?? I only found out about these this morning while browsing another forum. These things look more like a glorified laundry machine than anything else and are definately NOT something I would put my babies in.

How lazy are people getting??

I've seen that, and I can imagine that there might be a couple dogs out there who would enjoy it and a few more who would tolerate it. But if there's a single cat I'd like to meet it.

Aside from that, this is all about convenience to owners over the cat/dog s' needs and wants, and I am gonna have to put that in the category with declawing, neglect, abandoning, etc. As in, I am categorically not a fan of anything that puts human convenience at a higher priority than an animal's wellbeing.

And, that is an example of the wrong way to bathe a cat. Their head should never get wet aside from your damp finger or a damp cloth rubbing their face down. The water should never be sprayed up at them, I do my best to put the cup close to Zissou's skin so she never feels like she's getting water dumped on her.

What a scary experience for these poor animals, and I can't say I would be able to resist the urge to vandalize one if I ever saw it.

Even for dogs, I would be afraid of damage to the eyes, and ear infections with the way that the water squirts at them. I can't imagine actually using one of those things.

I heard about this horrible contraption a couple years ago.

It's a terrible thing, and should be banished.

Animals don't have a concept of time. Meaning you can tell them "It's only going to be a minute." But they don't understand that. So for all they know they are now stuck in that machine forever.

That is inhumane.

Oh gosh! I could`nt even stand to watch the whole thing. POOR KITTY.....it was just so scared.....I hope it SH** in thier Dam* machine!!!!

I couldn't watch it all either. Just a few seconds brought tears to my eyes.

I'm sure there are some dogs out there who would enjoy it but a cat should NEVER be put in something like that!

I couldn't watch it after seeing the comments, I think it would make me sick.

They freak me out too. It is really simple to bathe most pets in a stress free manner, I wash several dogs and one cat frequently each month in a tub in my home, no problem at all, it doesn't even take long.

I would never put any of mine in a washer and wouldn't recommend anyone else do either. These machines have the "ew" factor to me and seem really hard on the animals.

If you don't want to watch the video, imagine being trapped in a plastic box that suddenly starts spraying you with water and soap, and then blows hot air on you like you're in a car wash. And being a cat.

That poor kitty! Bad enough that they made the decision to put him in there, but after seeing how terrified he was, they left him in there! That is outrageous!!!

Years ago, I saw something on TV that reminded me of this, for dogs only that seemed ok, provided it was safe - and I'm not saying it was. The dog's head was outside the box. The dog actually seemed to be enjoying it.

That was horrific!!!

How on earth can anyone think of putting there poor animal in that thing.. My rotti's wouldn't even like being shut in a plastic box with water spraying all over you..

Heck I wouldn't even like it myself!!! That would have scared the crap out of me.

Have you actually seen a dog in one?!?! They always look terrrified & the family is usually sitting outside them giggling at how funny it is!!

I walked up to one family & told them to stick their 3 y/o daughter in there & try giggling when she was screaming & terrified!!! (I did get asked to leave the store after that, too )

I could not watch the video all the way. That poor cat, it looked so confused and scared. The poor baby was desperately trying to find a way out and there was none...

There is a special place for people who mistreat animals for the sake of making fast and easy $.

In response to the company's response to the video...

Bathing a cat yourself is WAY LESS DANGEROUS if you know what you are doing. They claim cats break their necks when being bathed by hand. What?

I literally just gave Zissou a bath (she's still wet) and she didn't even squirm. She gets nervous if she thinks her head will go under (which it won't) but if I posted a video of it, she would be standing in the water hanging out while I soaped her up, then standing with her front legs on the side of the tub so I can get her belly, then sort of swimming a little, then sitting on my lap waiting to be toweled off.

I don't see who is getting injured or how I would manage to break her neck doing that. If she were feral I can see how it could get violent, but still, if you know how to handle a cat, you know how to keep it from injuring you too badly and definitely how to keep it from injuring itself!

That is outrageous!!!!!!

I've seen these on the internet and never in my life would I put any of my pets in there!!!!

To me, it's abuse! What if soap gets in the ears or eyes??? Or the machine malfunctions and the "E-Stop" doesn't stop it and the dog/cat inside is terrified and trapped inside?

It's sad how lazy people are getting. So lazy that they'll sacrafice thier pets comfort, trust and health just to save them time!

Oh my god.... I cried watching that video. That poor, poor baby... I would have smashed the glass in to get to him.

I am sick to my stomach. That is disgusting, repulsive, and anyone who has contributed to the use or development of this weapon of torture ought to be sentenced to death.

Yep, he looked trapped and scared, I hated the part when he was scratchig franticly at the sides and leaping up to get away, They put in stupid 'under the sea' song from the little murmaid I used to love that song, now when I hear it all I'll think of is that poor creature screaming and leaping in that....that chamber of human stupidty.

IF your going to devlop a machine to wash cats or dogs, have the head stick out at least so they cant drown. That is almost as bad as what farmers used to do to unwated kittens in a litter, long tme ago I had an animal storybook in the cat section was a tale about a pet female cat that went wild and survived a year without humans then she got preg and when they finely found her thin and expecting some time later I read the farm girl say "well they'll have to be drowned' Even though they did treat the mama cat well that statement ruined the story for me I tore out that page and might have wrecked the book, don't care though it was a NASTY statement to a good ending.

Pets are not clothes and should not be treated as such

I saw that video too. What was the thinking behind this one. You would never put yourself in a glass box and let it fill with water. You would think you are going to drown. That is exactly what you animals are going to feel too.
