(Forgive me if this has already been addressed somewhere -- I couldn't find anything on it.)

So the other day I was giving gifts to several people, and I caught myself thinking, Gosh, I sure would like to have one of those myself... and one of those... and -- wait a minute! I do have a strawberry -- I remember the person who gave it to me!

So I looked at my header: no strawberry. And then I started noticing things... Where's the milkshake from Gayef that was my very first gift? And what dastardly fiend has made off with my cafe latte?

But then I realized that there must be some limit on how many gifts can be displayed at once -- otherwise, some people's headers would become unwieldy. Okay, that makes sense, I decided. But surely there's a way...

I had noticed somewhere an option for making gifts "private," so they wouldn't show up in the header, and I thought, Aha! I'll make some of the duplicate gifts private so there'll be room for more variety to show in the header!

I searched around for how to do that, and in my "History," I finally found what appeared to be a link titled "Remove log." Hmm, thought I. Maybe that will take me to a log of the gifts that have been "removed" -- in other words, those that no longer show on my header. So I clicked one of the "Remove log" links...

But YIKES!
It was not a link! It was a sly and wicked trap, and it snatched away that nice coffee milkshake Gayef gave me!

So my questions are...

a. Am I right, that older gifts disappear from your header as new ones arrive?

b. Is there a way to select which gifts are displayed at any given time?

c. Has my milkshake vanished forever into the bleak and cheerless void of cyberspace?

Please... educate me!

I had to giggle when I read this!! I have no "official" answer....but I have found that when I click on my user name in a post I've made, that there is an eyeball and an X next to all the gifts I've received....clicking on the eyeball makes said gift invisible and clicking the X deletes it. Does that make sense? I have a hard time explaining things sometimes!

I giggled also. The information taterbug gave you is correct. If you view your profile and click on the "eye" to the right of the gift, it will make it invisible. I can still see the milkshake Gaye sent you in your profile.

Yes, thank you both -- I do seem to have reacquired that elusive milkshake!

I feel a little silly for worrying about such things, but then... gosh, these little gifts are symbols of friendships and little moments of connection, y'know? They do mean something.

When you posted your most recent update on Dorothy, I was thinking "I sent her something.... did it get deleted?" Seems to be a case of disappearing things around here.... lol
