I gave a kitten to my sis in law....who was supposed to inform me if she couldnt keep it and we would have taken her back...I found out this morning when I went to her house that she had given her away I was

I said "To who"
She replied
"a girl I work with dont worry she will be fine"
When I asked why she didnt give her back to us she stated
"You and Kevin have too many animals...I didnt feel you needed her back"

So I asked her to call the girl she gave her to and ask how Rajah was doing over the speaker phone...
The friend replied
"I took her to the pound it wasnt workin out for us sorry"

My understanding is that she has been adopted out to a good home...I have friends that work for the rescue here and they told me she was adopted out almost immediately after the inspection to a wonderful home...I am still so mad I cant see straight though! I feel like if I had of been more careful this wouldnt of happened...that there was something I could have done...anything that would have stopped one of my beautiful babies from going to the pound...Apparently she gave away the kitten July 24 and since were not a extremely close nit family Today was the first time that we had been by in about 3 wks...which was right about the time we gave them the Rajah...

I dont blame you one bit for being furious!!!

I would be extra careful next time you have to get rid of a animal.

We didnt "get rid of" I took in a stray pregnant cat that had 3 kittens...we kept one and gave The mama Rajah and boo away to people I thought we could trust
I have since called and checked on Boo and Mama to make sure they are fine and both their owners are emailing me pix of them
They were very upset as well! Im not snapping at you just wanted clarify that bit of information

That really sucks! I don't blame you for being mad and upset. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to hit some people over the head with a 2 x 4!

Yes it would be...People should have to wear a sign that states "Im stupid" so that you know not to rely on them...After I found out the kitten had been taken to the pound I just walked out with my SIL yelling at me to come back shes been calling my phone all day but I dont feel like talking to her...Its been over 12 hours and I am still furious!

I don't blame you for being furious. I'd be too. Your SIL sounds like her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top. What part of "give her back if you can't keep her" didn't she understand!!!!

I hope she doesn't have kids. She's too stupid to reproduce.

That's terrible!

Luckily she did get adopted, but taking her to a pound?! She could of been put to sleep!! And why did she ask for the kitten if she would end up getting rid of it anyways?? How ignorant!!!
I don't think it's entirely your fault. I'd send her an email or call her up and be like "Why did you ask for a kitten if you didn't want one? You need to think more clearly before getting a new pet!"

I found out today from my Mother in Law who called later knowing that Id be upset that my SIL has had 2 other cats since Rajah and has given them away
She is incredibly irresponsible but as I said we dont see them all that often and she signed the contract stating that she agreed with everything I said...I felt at the time that she was trust worthy...I guess it just goes to show you how well you know someone....When my MomIL asked her why she gave away the cats all3 including Rajah she said she gave away Rajah who was about 14wks old when she gave her away bc she meowed too much...She gave away the 2nd one she got who my MIL estimated to be 7wks old bc she was too needy and same with baby #2 who was also estimated to be 7wks or less...
She now has an iguana...Who knows how that will turn out...

Tigger hasnt left my side since I got home this morning at first I just came home and cried...I had him Sadie and Sam all laying beside me and then all 3 dogs Max and Zoe laying on me and Lilly laying at my feet...Im glad I have them...theyve been by my side all day long!

**Jewel is now Sadie weve changed her name just seems to fit her better**

Wow, she seems incredibly like an incredibly irresponsible person. It's probably best that she doesn't have a kitty. It's too bad that your kitty went to the pound, but at least she got a good home.

I am happy that she has a new home...I just wish I would have known all this before...It would have saved a lot of trouble!

This woman needs to be "flagged" at every shelter in the area as someone unfit to adopt. She also needs to be educated.

I can think of a few other things she needs, as well, but since she's family, I won't suggest them...
