I'm not replying as much as i feel crappy. My gum had to flare up friday night when going to Tristans for the weekend
It only happens maybe a few times a year, but god does it hurt. When will this tooth hurry up and stop coming up? It's only about halfway grown *sighs*

Asking for lots of sympathy, and possibly an ice-pack for my cheek lol

Ouch! Take a lesson from infants and help it along by using a "teething ring" of sorts.

When my wisdom teeth were cutting through I was chomping down on pens, ice cube, spoon handles, smooth stones, marbles, frozen chunks of fruit like pinapple, basically anything that was hard, small enough to fit way back where the tooth was coming in and would help the tooth cut through.

I had my wisdom teeth removed so not too much advice for you...I would use some orajel on it that should help ease the pain...Also alternate hot and cold packs on your face about 4 times a day hot for twenty minutes then when you do it the 2nd time do cold and so on this should help ease the pain

I remember when mine were coming up, the dentist took a knife and cut off the top of the gum.

Hrm dentist with a sharp knife... *runs*

I had one removed before it cut through because the xray showed it was on a bag angle, this one's been moving a couple of years, and the top two are poking a little bit but nothing bad. I have bonjela (a teething gel mum used on my when i was a bub
) chewed on a carrot but i'm such a chicken!

I think when we're born there should be a process that's quick and easy, get all your adult teeth when you hit 3!!!

*sighs*

I'm going through the same thing today!! My wisdom tooth on the top left is only about halfway through and has been for about a year, and I guess its moving again. I've been in pain and drowsy all day long, and the entire top of my jaw on that side aches. I've been using it as an excuse to pig out on ice cream today, because it helps numb the pain!!

I hope you feel better soon!!

Just go get all your wisdom teeth out. You'll have a day or so of pain, and a couple of days of being uncomfortable, but it's much better than the pain of the wisdom teeth themselves coming through.

The longer you wait the more "established" your teeth get in your gums, and the longer the recovery is. Get it over and done with now. I am the biggest wimp when it comes to pain and had a not very nice recovery and I'm sooooo glad I had it done. Definitely worth it.

Not everyone has the money to get it done. I am looking for work and have no been on my parents health cover since i turned 21. If it cost about $200 to get one tooth removed, do you think i can afford to hand out $600 in one go?
