 I think you'll find the same people argue here because people come to forums for different things. IMO is only a very small part of TCS and many members are not allowed to post because of their age or their time on the site. I have got pretty outspoken here on several occasions, as have many others, but I can't agree that it regularly descends into name-calling and childishness. First of all, people are very careful and respectful of each other, and second, the mods wouldn't allow it. This forum is a Sunday School picnic compared to other political forums I am on. The very nature of the things talked about means that people are more heated than in the other forums here. But nastiness is not tolerated and members do get put in their place here if that surfaces. It has happened to me when I've got carried away, and it teaches you to be respectful. Just as your post has also been a little inspiration for me. If members here feel belittled and don't post as a result I will apologise if I have been guilty of that. But you DO have to be a little thicker skinned and persistent here, too.  over |
And Cindy, I forgot to add you into the multi-quote but.. I don't dislike either you or Bruce, although you two are the ones I find myself debating with most often... I'm sure that the two of you could probably do without me, at least upon occasion.
