So, the slow, month long intro between Isosceles and Merfy seems to have hit a stalemate. I have realized that she is willing to tolerate him, even likes to watch him play, but is afraid if he approaches her, which he does often.
(she's 13, spayed, was abandoned at 3 weeks old. He's about 4 or 5 months old, vet says we can neuter next month.)
The problem is he keeps jumping around her in a peculiar fashion. I'm not sure if he's being aggressive or not. I'll let him out of his room (he's still semi isolated) and he'll come running out. Merfy's favorite spot is on a carpet in the dining room, just outside the hallway. She's usually sitting there, very interested in seeing him.
When he sees her, he runs at her, arches his back, and starts hopping around her. He kind of looks like a bucking bronco. He'll fall over, run away, and run back...do it again until she gets annoyed and hisses. Sometimes she takes a swipe and runs away. If he'd calm down (i know. hard to ask of a kitten) he could be out longer with her. I just don't want to stress the old girl too much.
She seems willing to tolerate him.
If i give him a toy, and he doesn't notice her, she can sit and watch him play. She seems to like that, and will even run off to play herself. I just don't know how to tell if he's being aggressive towards her.
Thanks! maybe i'll post pictures in the picture section to give you a clearer picture.
