How many times do cats usually go poop a day?

If your litter boxes are covered ones, try taking the cover off. Your cat might feel confined and be seeking an open space.

One of my feral's Lane uses the box so much I wonder some times if somethings wrong.

He goes five six or more times per day. I can't keep up with him. I use to start laughing at

him while I'm scooping out the box. I clean the box five or six times a day trying to prevent

UTI's.

I have six. Two 17 year old's and four young feral's.

I hear Lane in the box trying to dig his way to China, And I say, this can not be right.

Is there something wrong?

Cucumella is 14 years old. She has been living with me for the last 5 years as an "interior home cat".  I feed her Purina Cat Chow for adult cats in the variety offered: (meat, chicken, fish and and balanced Cat Chow mixture for adults living inside).

I don'thave a feeding time table for her. I make sure her food and water dishes are always full. She eats when she wants but she is not at all overweight. She drinks a lot. Very occasionally I give her a few little pieces of raw fish because she can smell it when I am preparing to cook some and she becomes desperate for it  But I give her very very little because she doesn't digest it well and ends up vomiting it. . She doesn't like it cooked.

I don't exactly know how many times a day she poops but when I scoop the litter box every morning I usually find two fairly large pieces of dry poop and 3 or 4 balls of clamped litter. I buy "Super Mix" with long lasting odour control. There is absolutely no smell.

She NEVER poops or wees outside the litter box.

My five cats poop differently: younger ones tend to go twice a day; old ones only once.

So I changed my cat's diet a few months ago to dry Natural Balance low calorie food because I heard they poop less on better food plus my cat is a little overweight. However, my cat seems to poop all the time! At least three times a day, maybe more. His poop is always pretty soft and wet (he doesn't cover it), and it really smells bad! Sorry to be graphic. Do you think this is normal or should I switch his food?
My cat eats Natural Balance also and Fancy Feast in the morning and night plus a couple of snakcs and some dental treats. Lately she has the same problem. Stinky, smelly yellow pool 3 times a day, uncovered. I run after her to clean her butt so she won't sit on anything...UGH Have not changed her diet and had her 3 years already.. I am going crazy because her litterbox is in the bathroom\ tjat is in my master bedroom and there isn't anywhere else to put it. I can;t lock her out and she sleeps with me. Yuck! I get up at 4 and take the poop out, spray and open windows but it permeates the whole house.

Now that is totally Cool! I'v been asking people who have Cat, that question a lot lately.

But no one really knows... they just assume it's several times a day... and others just don't care. But I find it's a question every Pet owner should know!

I'v never had Cats b 4, until just recently...like just the past few years. I'v had my first Cat 2 years now, and the other, one year. I have also trained both Cats 2 use the toilet. And through the months an years of observation, I'v notice they poop only once a day. Well after quite a few months of observing this, I'v decided 2 let them go outside, but only after they have Pooped. I really think it's CROUL 2 keep any animal insede all it's life!

Well now that my neighbor has seen my Cats, she's been complaining 2 the Landlord, that my cats have been pooping in her yard. But there R other Cats that come around 2. How does she know it's My Cats? She Clams shes seen them do it. My Landlord who has had Cats 4 years, Clams that Cats poop at lest twice, 2 several times a day! But my gut instincts tells me somethings wrong here! Besides my neighbor is a Bitch. She may have seen them squat, 2 pee, but not 2 poop!

I am so clad 2 find this information. Now I can tell this 2 others who have Cats, what shoud b.

"I never would have thought poop could b so important"!
It's cruel to let them outside where cruel people, cars, coyotes *we have a lot here can get to them. The coyotes even scale 10 ft fences if your pet is there.

My four years old cat Sombra has been with me for a full year. She eats without limit Purinas Excellent dry food, as recommended by the vet at the shelter where I adopted her and Hill's Premium Wet Cat Food as a midday meal in the variety offered. She has always pooped once every two days. I gather that THAT is what is normal for her since it has always been like that. I find balls of clamped litter every morning.
