Arnie was precious. A little purr box.

In his short life he had already suffered from Coccidia and was skinny from it.
He and Winston came to his forever home on Saturday.

He was a lap cat from the start. On the 2nd day he started to loose his appetite.

We took him to the vets yesterday who said he was a very sick little kitten.
They did exploratory surgery today and it turned out to be FIP.
The Dr said he wouldn't recover from this and I didn't want him to suffer anymore.

He was put to sleep 10 minutes ago.

I'm glad he got to learn, even if it was for only a few days, not all humans are bad and dump kittens. I am glad he got cuddles and I will miss his purring and his head bumps.

Dear Okuda:

I am SO sorry. I had a bad feeling that he was not going to be here long, from your previous post; but I had no idea it would be FIP. We've had experience with this awful disease as well -- my beloved King Sunny-A-Cat succumbed to it after an almost record survival time on Immunoregulin and B-12 (and lots of love, of course) -- he was just shy of 16 when he let me know he needed to leave me. And several years back, I adopted a rescue kitten who seemed very healthy and checked out that way; I believe she developed FIP from the vaccine, and once that happened, she rapidly went downhill. I know you must be devastated -- I know I would be.

You are so right, though -- at least Arnie knows that not all people are bad news, and he knows what love is. What an adorable little boy. He'll be forever in your heart.
