hey everyone
me n a friend are housesittin for a friend who is no stranger to cat or kitten..theyr'e bloody everywhere!
however we went in today and a cat has given birth in the rabbit hutch. and unusually there only seems to be one kitten there. we go to the vet. she says try n move them cos the city foxes will get them. we go back...leave the cat for a bit in case she gives birth to more , she didnt and was roaming around n didnt even seem like she was in labour. we put both cat and kitten in a box with a blanket and some of the hay they were sittin on in the hutch. an hour later and mum has gone off and left our little kitten to it. Perhaps the rest of the litter is elsewhere? also this kitten seems quite big for a small cat, and there didnt seem to be any gloop on him!
so we may be havin to hand rear this baby! not that we mind, hes adorable, but i need all the hand rearin and kitten advice i can get!
thanks v much!

first of all where has mum gone exclaty? if outside then she could very well have more kittens somewhere that will need to be found because of other foxs, dogs and other cats, oh and remember the rats we get over here they would love to feast on a tiny kitten.
the mum can also get pregnant as soon as a few days after birth so she needs to be kept strickly in doors only untill she has been spayed. try and get mum to come back in then follow her she might lead you to the other kittens.
this is a great link for raising kittens.

well this cat had given birth in the hutch in the garden so i think it is a best bet if we have a hunt around for a litter. we'v been followin her round too to see if she leads us to the rest of the litter but it doesnt seem workin.
