After several bouts of blockage due to cystitis and struvite crystals, including 2 blockages in the last 36 hours, Leo is having PU surgery today.

I went and visited him in the hospital yesterday, and he looked *so* upset and stressed. It just breaks my heart. I'm hoping this does the trick for him; this has been such a frustrating experience trying to figure out how to help him.

I'll update after his surgery today. I'm praying all goes well!

Good Luck, Leo!

I really feel for you and Leo
... Munchie went thru a crystals thing for several weeks and had to be cath'ed and was on special food and several trials of antibiotics and antispasmodics........the whole spiel!!! and we were freaked out!! Luckily, he pulled through and didn't require the PU (whew!
)

Some healing vibes
for
Leo!

P.S. When you get the chance, please let us know how he did

Thanks for the vibes! The vet tech said Leo did really well with the surgery.
I'm hoping to go visit him later this evening, and he should get to come home tomorrow. That will still be an ordeal, as he has to wear an e-collar for 2 weeks until he gets his sutures out, which requires sedation again. Poor guy! He's going to have to be confined to the bathroom to stay quiet and away from Lilly, which is a pain in a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment! Hopefully this solves the problem, as it is pretty much the option of last resort. Now I'm off to apply for care credit to be able to pay for all this!
