12:15 AM ET - Just got a text message that she was at the Casino when this happened ... she called her friends and they decided to meet out there instead of in town. She is safe. *big sigh of relief*

Great news gaye! Great great news!
My family is so very relieved tonight to know that we are all safe and well. But there are so very many other families who are not secure in their knowledge of their own loved ones. My heart and my prayers go out to those who are still waiting to hear ... we know and share your pain. May your wait be short and the news be as good for you as it was for us. To those who have lost, our tears flow with yours and our hearts share your pain as though it were our own.

I still don't know. Half of my extended family lives in the cities (many in Cottage Grove actually too) and we are just hoping that had anything happened we would know by now... nobody is answering.
Oh Honey ... I hope you hear something soon. The waiting is just horrific. I will be up a while yet ... if you need someone to stay up and wait with you, I can.

I just heard this awful news -- I read the thread so fast, hoping to hear everyone was all right, and thank goodness... and Zissou, I'm hoping so hard for all your people to be okay.
Oh this is just so awful.....what chaos and worry !
I`m so thankful that Gayef`s sister and Scamper Farms are OK and I`m praying that Zissou will hear from all those she is concerned about very soon and that all will be well with her loved ones.
What a grief for all of that city`s residents....It`s just hard to imagine such a thing .....or the emotions that go with it.
It won`t be long though before the grief is going to turn to anger....because that bridge should NOT have collapsed ! (IMHO... If there was no earthquake or no terrorist plot, like they are saying there is`nt)
Somewhere down the line there IS a cover up! Either someone was covering up the work in building it or inspecting it. SHODDY something-or-other I`m willing to bet, by people who are concerned with $$$ or power more than they are with the lives of other people.
Oh gosh! Those poor people who were involved...and their family and friends....It`s just hard to imagine...I`m soooo saddened for them.

I'm glad your sister is ok, Gaye. Horrible tragedy and prayers for those injured and the families of those lost.
Edit: Just read up on it more this morning. 20 are still missing. Those poor families, not knowing.

I just heard from the rest of my family. Everyone is accounted for and ok. I am so relieved.
My aunt told me that they are reporting up there that there was a report done in 2006 on that bridge showing "Stress Cracking" and nothing was done about it.
