Here's the story... Me and mom were sitting outside talking one night and all of a sudden we heard a squeaky noise! I stood up and started to walk around the house and I saw a kitten running toward me and as I bent down to pick her up she literally jumped into my arms! We brought her inside and have been taking care of her. She eats well and is very playful, and she gets plenty of rest. The only thing is her eyes are runny and get a little goopy along with an excessive sneeze. Her stool looks normal and we already gave her a little bit of wormer just incase... we estimate her age being at least 7 weeks old. I looked over her ears and her mouth and they looked normal.. we obviously came to the conclusion that someone had dumped her at our house because stray animals are a rare occasion where we live, and she seemed to be socialized with people and also well fed. Her body feels normal also.. but her belly has fattened up a lot and well we're pretty sure that's just because she's grown so much since we found her .. but I wasn't positive because it could be abdominal inflammation.. but she shows no instance of pain .. She has an appointment with a vet in a couple of days and I'm just scared that it might be a start to a contageous feline disease because we have two adult male cats (Neutered) in our household and we definately do not want to put their health in danger!

I would keep her separate from your cats until she has a checkup and starts her vaccinations. She could have an upper respiratory infection (a kitty cold) and the distended belly could be due to worms. You can also get a FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV test to make sure she doesn't have those. It's usually a quick 10 minute test.

I hope all goes well at the vet.
