Anyone have any good drink recipes for the summer time? Maybe something nice and cold and sweet?
If we could share recipes that would be great!

I would list mine, but I don't have any.... that's why I started this thread.

Well... if you're an alcohol drinker... like myself...

Mix any white wine with some fruit juice and put pieces of fruit in there. Chill and serve over ice... makes great sangria!

Cut up a watermelon and put chunks in a HUGE pitcher. Cover with coconut rum, citrus, mango, apple, or some fruity vodka, everclear if you'd like, and let it sit. Garnish your glass with the chunks of watermelon. I throw the rind in there too! Makes a great punch, but watch out, it'll hit you quick!

I just drink the normal non-alcoholic stuff in the summertime. Pepsi has this Summer Mix stuff out that's pretty good.

I dont drink anymore but I love appletinis (vodka and green apple pucker) get you messed up quick... Love martini's... There is also tangerini's, Blue UV and Vodka, some Wapatui (love the fruit)... Margaritas are always a winner! Also try vodka with mango twist juice... If your ever desperate voodoo's arent too bad (vodka and mountain dew)... Otherwise you could mix pink lemonade, lemonade, strawberry or raspberry lemonade with vodka... I usually tend to stick to clear alcohol in the summer time... well i use to when I drank!

Wapatui: (almost all alcohol, you can also use pineapple, watermelon, grapes... any fruit to your liking... tastes better than it sounds): http://www.mathu.com/busbooze.htm

Here's my contribution. I normally only make it when having a large group of people over -

Melon Punch

1 quart unsweetened grapefruit juice
1 quart pineapple juice
1-1/2 quarts ginger ale
1/2 of a 750ml bottle of vodka
6 oz can frozen limeade
6 oz can frozen lemonade
2 pkg frozen melon balls

Well you can always make lemonade

But what we like to do (and I think I'll make some today) is to take about 4-5 different flavors of tea and make a big pitcher of iced tea. We pick Chai, Raspberry, Vanilla Caramel, English Breakfast, Mint, etc.

Its never the same thing twice - different and pretty good. DH is not a big ice tea drinker but he does like the mixed ice tea

Do you like Sangria?

I found one that well, is ALL alcohol. Basically you only need one glass and its the equivilent of 4 or 5.
I'll look for it when I get home.

Sangria rocks, and you do get tipsy on it fast. I remember a lady i use to do hair with (she rocked, she was like a second mom)... Use to make her special sangria just at my request, I loved that stuff... It tastes so good that you forget its all alcohol... Sooner than later your wasted. Ive made a fool out of myself being wasted on Sangria

I haven't made this since I became diabetic, but it's perfect for hot days -- the tartness is just right: just mix up some cranberry juice, some club soda, a little lime juice, and some sugar. And it's so pretty, too, deep ruby with slices of lime as garnish!

I really like mango punch. It is really simple to make, canned mango concentrate, and club soda. Add lots of ice and a splash of vodka and it is great.

Alcohol:

Limoncello over ice, now there's a lemonade.

Stoli Raspberry Vodka with 7-Up with a few fresh raspberries.

Non-alchol:

Mango Lassi:
Mix in a blender: 1 fresh mango in chunks, 2 tblsp. sugar,
1 cup plain yogurt, 8 medium or 4 large ice cubes, 1 tbsp. lime juice, 1/2 cup water. Puree until smooth. Makes 2 large glasses. (yogurt can be whole, lowfat or nonfat) Yummers.

Thank goodness for Google! I Didn't have the site I found it on until I googled part of the recipe.

Anyhoo, here is Traditional Sangria (I've termed it as "Knock you on your :censored: Sangria"

Here's my "Red Drink":

4 jiggers dark rum
4 shots banana liquor
16 ounce package frozen strawberries
2 very ripe bananas

Blend the fruits in a blender then add the alcohol and blend some more. Add ice cubes to fill near the top of the blender and blend till the ice is crushed.

But be aware - you can't taste the alcohol in this one and will become drunk really fast.

I created this at 2AM one night with a house full of guests and we had just ran out of beer and all other mixers. I had one of those inspiration moments.

Here's a simple non-alcoholic one:

Just make/buy some lemonade (the powder kind works good) and then add a bag of frozen mixed fruit (mellons, grapes, etc) and voilà!

My favorite new summertime simple fruity poolside drink is lemonade with raspberry rum.
