Hello,
I stumbled across this forum looking for information on kitten nutrition.
We were make kitten parents on Saturday. We went to "second chance kitten rescue" in NC and came home with Arnie (Black) and Winston (Black and white)
Arnie after Arnold Palmer as he was found on a golf course.
Winston was found with his litter of 6 kittens, he was the only boy. She said they were so covered in fleas that the water went orange when they bathed them. I am totally in love with his eyes!
Arnie is an estimated 16 weeks and Winston 14 .. although Winston is easily double Arnie's weight at the moment...
Winston is flourishing, eating and playing.
Arnie however has lost all his weight and you can feel all his bones. He is not really eating at the moment, so my day consists of antibiotics and syringe feeding! It can get very sticky lol.
He is totally uninterested in playing and just likes to sleep ..mostly on me!
He is drinking by him self and purrs alot, so that is something.
When they found him, he had to go on treatment for Coccidia, so it seems he is quite a sickly kitten.
He doesn't play (yet watches Winston act like a loon, with interest) I think though, Arnie is just going to be one of those quiet lap purr boxes who doesn't really play.
I actually gave Winston catnip for the first time last night. I swear, I have never laughed so hard. It has got to be one of the most comical things I have ever seen. I read only 2/3s of cats are affected by it. Trust him to be one! It don't have any affect on Arnie.
Anyhow enough rambling! Here's the boys
