Hi all,

This week, I noticed my two year old Himalayan with small flaking sores and dead skin on her right ear and at her eyes. I gave her an application of Frontline monday after reading most normal cause is fleas. I haven't seen her doing a lot of scratching lately.

How long should I give the Frontline to work or should I look to buy some antibiotics now? Her behavior is very anti social this week. I guess I would be too if I was in pain.

Her diet along with the other two if your wondering is mostly Fancy Feast & Purina Complete\\Indoor Formula. Though, I did try a new wet brand this last week she is the only one of three effected.

Thanks for any input.

Where did you get the Frontline? Unless you got it from your vet, it may not be the "real" thing and could do more harm than good.

As for antibiotics, again, the cat should be seen and any antibiotics prescribed by a vet. Self-diagnosing and treatment can be very dangerous unless you yourself are a licensed veterinarian.

The food could possibly be the culprit but it is still best to go to the vet and have the cat thoroughly checked out.

Fancy Feast is not a very good quality food but it may not be causing the problem.
