Just how morbid can you be? MyDeathSpace

I'm a true crime fan, but this seems a bit over the top to me:
http://www.mydeathspace.com/

Could you picture yourself using such a site?

Only if they have computers in the great beyond! Geeeez! What will they think of next?

I'm trying to understand the site. I read the article on CNN yesterday and thought that anyone on MySpace who died was transferred over to MyDeathSpace. However I go to MyDeathSpace and really don't see a lot. The links don't work either.

I think its a little more focused for the younger crowds who lose friends in drunk driving accidents and whatever else. There are other sites out there that allow you to look up obituaries, but sometimes its hard to do, especially if you were only friends online. I.e. if anyone of here passed on IRL, how would we know? We really couldn't search obits unless we all had each others last names.

Do they automatically get put in there when they die? How do they know when they die?

Your friends and family, who would know your myspace link but perhaps not your password to log on to your account and let people know what happened, can log on to mydeathspace and submit a death. You have to supply the persons full name which has to match the one they gave to myspace, and then they 'try' to verify the information before posting it but it is basically obituaries for myspace users, and false info is probably out there (but do newspapers ask for proof when you post a memorial notice or obituary?)

To add another morbid twist, they now have online services you can commission to send out 'the final email' to notify your friends and colleagues you have departed this plane of existence.

That is so creepy!!!! Something freaky I think. I'm on facebook and one of my friends/coeworker was the guy who murdered two girls in a Kirkwood aptment building. His facebook page is still up and it just gives me the creeps!

I think the video gravestones are the creepiest. It's $$$$$$$ but you can purchase a gravestone/TV for your grave and record your life or whatever you want to say and everytime someone walks by the grave the video is activated and plays.
