I have tried to find old posts but no luck. I need help on how to get my 5 week kittens to use the litterbox. I put newspaper in one box and thought they might get that and that didn't work all they did was curl up and sleep in the box. Any help would be good because I don't want to step in another pile. Thank you.

First you need to confine the kittens to one area, like a bathroom that's easy to clean up. Then get a shallow pan (cake pan works well) and put some plain clay litter in it - not the scoopable as the kittens will eat some litter at first.

Then put them in the pan after they eat. If you find a spot where they went, then put the poop or the pee (clean it up with some tissues) in the litter box and kind bury it part way to give them the scent of where to go and the idea to bury.

Do you still have mom - she should be teaching the kittens where and how to go - they imitate her. But everyone needs to be confined to one room for awhile.

They are now in my bathroom with 2 litterboxes. Yes we still have mom but so far she doesn't like them to be near the box when she goes. I figure at somepoint they should figure it out, it is like a kid takes time.
