As most of you know, I have four bottle babies. Estimated to be between 3-4 weeks old (closer to 3 than 4). They're doing great, taking the bottle just fine. With the kittens I've bottle fed in the past, they've all let me know when they're hungry. Every 3 hours, like clockwork, they'd start screaming. But these kittens are different. I fed them before bed last night and kept waiting to hear them scream to be fed the rest of the night. I woke up four times in the middle of the night and they were sound asleep every time. They finally started yelling for food at around 7 a.m. My question is... do I wait until they ask to be fed, or should I wake them up and feed them anyway?

What kind of schedule are you keeping? Every 3 or every 4 hours and how much are you giving them each time? Perhaps you should just add an extra hour to whatever your schedule is and see if they do well on that...at 3 weeks you can probably start introducing some mush....

My bottle babies are about 4 weeks. And they cry every 3 1/2 hours most of the time. But sometimes they dont. I still wake them up and then they usually realize hey Im hungry!

It's been a long time since I had a bottle baby but if they are 3-4 weeks and they are still gaining weight I wouldn't worry too much about mid-night feedings. Especially if they are sleeping through. I'd be concerend if they weren't gaining weight.

I've been feeding every 3 hours, and they eat roughly an ounce each per feeding.

They're all gaining weight fine, I've only had them since Sunday and they've gained 20-30 grams each since I weighed them Sunday night.

You know, I had Jade, who always screamed for food.
I never heard a peep outta Figgy asking to be fed....I don't think I ever heard a peep outta him unless he wanted to be held. And then I had the 6....the tiny, underfed 2 or 3 screamed, the others didn't. I think it depends on the kitten.
