I got my kitten yesterday and she shook all the way home. At first I assumed she was scared but over 24 hours later, she's still shaking. It stops when she's asleep but the moment she wakes up, it starts again. I don't think it's just that she's cold and she's completely healthy and happy seeming so I don't think she's scared.

Also, she wont eat the cat food we got her. We were told that she was on dry food and to keep her on that but she wont even look at it. She ate a bite of queen cake while I wasn't looking but doesn't seem to want anything else. Like I said she seems perfectly healthy and happy but this is my first kitten and I'm a little worried about her and have little idea how to take care of her dietary needs =/

Speak to the vet tonight (they're usually around til 8-ish) because you must get her straightened out fast. The shaking may not be a serious problem, but you need to feed her properly - not adult cat food, but kitten food (no milk though) and up to 6 times a day. The shaking may be just nerves - keep her, a low sided box, somewhere soft to sleep, and her water in a small room for now til she feels more comfortable - the whole house can be scary to a new kitty.

RI the littlest stop on the map..........
I agree the house could be scary for the little one you need to call the vet I have to say I have never had this problem nor have I heard of this once the kitten got home . You didn't say whether the kitten shakes when your holding her and how old is she ?

I'm not sure, we took her in from a shelter but I'd say she's only six week. A friend told me she might be too young for dry food so I moved her onto wet food with some dry mixed in and she's eating fine now
She's stopped shaking too and only shakes after I pick her up to put her in the kitty litter (I have a tendency to run with her when she's peeing all over my carpet :p) I'd say it was just nerves. We're bringing her to the vet this weekend to get her checked out and possibly neutered. I could ask you a million questions about rearing a cat cause she's my first but it's mainly nerves on my part too. Hopefully she'll be fine
