So, Armin has been sick pretty much since we got him. At first, it was a horrible URI, so he was put on amoxi-drops and an eye cream. Now it's diarrhea that doesn't want to go away.

We took him to the vet last week Thursday, and she told us that the antibiotics threw his bacteria out of whack. They didn't find any evidence of worms or parasites. We left with a bottle of Albon and FortFlora to get his system back to normal.

He seems like he's getting better. He's gaining some of the weight back, he doesn't seem dehydrated, and he's more active now. But he still has the diarrhea. Granted, it isn't the water mess it was, it has a little more bulk to it, but he still has it.

I'm getting frustrated. It's not the money, well, a little of it is, I just want him to get better. It isn't fair that we can't figure out what's wrong. Does anyone have a clue as to what's wrong? If this doesn't get better, I'm asking for a referral to UW Vet Hospital in Madison.

In Ohio, with a houseful of Kitties
I understand your frustration, but I think if you wait a few more days he poop wil be firmer..I had foster kittens with horrible watery poops. They also were on antibiotics. I puchases Bene-Bac from our local pet store. It is a live bacteria that kitties need that they lose when they have the poops. Atleast thats what I was told. Anyway it works..took a little while and there poop went from water to a pudding..to a firm jello, and now there fine. Is he eating wet or dry food?I would add pedialyte to the dry food and some to the wet food. I also would give them a syringe full of pedialyte every couple of hours to make sure they were getting fluids..Hope this helps..Walmart pedialyte is about 3 bucks..other stores are way more.

He's on dry and wet food. I never thought of the Pedialyte, I'll have to pick some up. Thanks!
