It seems that I have the flu at the moment - sore body, especially my joints, nausea and all that.

So that makes me grumpy. Wanna join me in my pity party?

I am calling in sick tonight, we moved to a new location and it has been absolute heck for us there, it is so full on so I don't think it helped.

Does anyone have any food tips? I tried eating cream of chicken soup but that came back up. Blech.

anything creamy is a bad idea when you're sick. Stay away from dairy altogether.

I agree... broth and crackers are a good choice. You can also add some soup noodles to your broth if you want something more substantial.

Sorry you're feeling sick. I hope you feel better soon.

I always feast on soda crackers and sprite/sierra mist/7-up when I'm sick. Hope you feel better!

Sometimes nothing will stay down no matter what. If that is the case push the fluids... gatoraide is great when you are sick.

Sometimes I'll have something a little sweet... tea with honey, just because it doesn't taste as bad when it comes back up. (Gross idea but it can help make it a little less ... icky?)

But push the fluids..... maybe tomorrow try dry toast or some saltines? If you know you're going to vomit tonight then lay off anything heavy and flavorfilled... and stick to clear fluids.

Anyway to go to the doctor and get some antinausea medicine?

I don't have any crackers - I am not really hungry anyway. Just drinking plenty of water at the moment.

Am off to have a bath right now - it is the only thing that soothes the pain that I am experiencing. Grrr.

Thanks for the tips!

Maybe boiled chicken and rice?

Can I wallow in your misery as well? I've been exhausted the last couple of days, have been on the verge of a migraine all day (got the blurry vision coming and going which is usually first sign of a migraine), my neck is aching, and to make things worse, my Mac laptop just died and won't charge and won't turn on. All of my university stuff is on it as well as a bunch of unbacked up photos.

I have no idea if it's my power supply, or the laptop itself. Hoping it's just the power supply. So not what I need!

Sure come on and join in the pity party - misery loves company.

Have you tried taking the battery out of the laptop and putting it back in to reset it? I hope it starts working soon!

I would suggest some chicken noodle soup and crackers. Maybe a little weak tea if you are a tea drinker.

You certainly have my sympathy, I am not feeling to great this evening myself. Not sick or anything but my legs and back are aching and am very very tired. I took 3 Advil earlier and they did nothing for the problem...

Hope you are feeling better soon, here are some healing vibes for you

Over the river and through the woods...
MIL swears by jello to help with nausa, but drink a liquid cup before letting the rest set. Make it as usual, but pour a glass before you but the rest in the fridge to set up and sip on it slowly. I guess the gelatin in it coats your stomach and calms it. I thought it sounded stupid, but tried it when DH was sick, and it worked like a charm. After that, he could keep down chicken soup and some crackers.

I hope you feel better soon.

Aww Kahu is really taking good care of me - I have been in bed and if I turn around onto my other side, he will come over and look at me and gently pat at me. He does not normally like people's faces near his but he has been putting his face on mine. It is so sweet, making me cry! (I just hope he isn't like Oscar the death cat!

Oh sheesh -- that laugh is the SECOND nice thing you've done for me in the past 20 minutes!

There's a product here in the States called Emetrol -- do you have it there? It's just a heavy, sugary syrup that really helps settle your stomach. Emetrol, soda crackers, and luke-warm water can get you through anything!

Hope you feel better soon...

The body pain has gone, but I was up every hour vomiting and this has led to some pretty bad tummy pains. I have been drinking electrolytes and chicken broth and eating saltines. All bland food
I have been at home all day watching CSI on dvd. I think I have had 6 baths in the last 2 days - they sooth the pain in my back, so it is really nice.

The nausea and vomiting got worse so I went to the 24 hour clinic. $67 and 4 hours later, the doctor said I have gastroenteritis - so another day off work.
But now I have medicine for the nausea and pain so I hope it goes away!

Icky! I'm sorry your still feeling sick! I hope your feeling better real soon! I've only been sick enough for anti-nausea/diarrhea meds (I had to go to the ER...suspected food poisoning at the time) and it was not one bit of fun!

DH and I were engaged and I had driven his car home that night....so he had to get his roommate to drive him to my house at 2 am to take me to the ER because my parents had left for a Christmas holiday at about midnight. I knew he loved me then!
J/k of course!

Well, keep on those medications and stay on the sofa/in the tub!! And enjoy CSI!!
When I was sick I spent two days catching up on old Nip Tuck seasons. At least something good can come of the situations!

And remember, even when you feel better to take it easy. You don't want to relapse and go through it all again!
