Hi there, I have taken on an 8 week old and a 12 week old, im told they are both male. I have taken them on after a lady came to the door and asked if we could have them as her young children wont stop screaming at them and the poor kittens have been stuck in a dog crate for the past 2 weeks.

They came with meat and biscuits, but says for adult cat, should I change them onto kitten and what make is best for them? They also have a bottle of liquid wormer and a box of flea tablets, neither of them are opened though so I guess they need doing? She gave me the dog crate which they hide in alot, the 8 week old is enjoying his upstairs freedom, but the 12 week old hides and hisses alot at the moment! They came with no toys, luckily my mum had some still from when we had cats years back but am off out today to buy them lots of goodies! I am keeping them away from all the other animals until I get them to the vet for a check up (will have to be Tuesday as Im working tomorrow)

Is there anything else I should be doing with these little guys, or that I need?

If the dewormer and flea tablets were not purchased from a vet, do NOT use them. They can be very dangerous to the cat.

You should feed them a pretty good brand of kitten food. Saedie really likes Chicken Soup for the Kitten Lover's Soul. It is a good food and is pretty affordable.

Just give the 12 week old time, he will get adjust eventually.

They aren't all that young so there isn't too much to worry about. It was very sweet of you to take them in. I hope you enjoy them.

I am not a kitten expert so will leave most of that for those who know more. They do need to be fed a good quality kitten food. Not sure what the good brands are in the UK.

Otherwise, it sounds as though you are doing well. They need a litter box, fresh water, a place to go to feel comfy and lots of love. Bless you for taking these little ones in. Please post photos if you can
