I am worried. He grabbed it off the table, and ate half of it! It is one of those fat rubberbands. Will he be OK? Should I call the vet?? Thanks!

I agree with that, give them a call for advice. They will tell you what to look out for in the way of symptoms if it starts causing a problem.

One of my two ate about one and a half inches of shoelace complete with the plastic end this morning
(my fault for leaving my trainers out) so I'll be doing the watching and waiting thing with you.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for it to pass through ok as well as for my shoelace!

I hope for both of you it passes through with no complications.
Diego has a habit of eating my wifes hair. I don't know how he does it but always theres some holding each section of his stools together..

When my cat ate rubberbands...and i say plural because she ate a bunch. She threw up some of them, and the vet had me give her laxatone to help her pass them. I hope all goes well. But if she is eating, drinking and going to the bathroom normally hopefully everything will be ok. *hugs

I would keep a close eye on him. This might sound gross but check his stool to see if it passes. If he acts strange at all call the vet.
