I recently moved in with my sister, along with my cat. She is used to drinking from a leaky faucet (and barely, if ever, uses her water bowl). since i am not allowed to have the sink drip regularly anymore (because of city water restrictions or something) i decided to purchase a cat fountain from the pet store.

She is being very stubborn and won't use it. I don't want her to get dehydrated so i put her near the sink as often as i can...since she wont give in. Does anyone have any suggestions that would get her to drink from the fountain/water bowl?

I found a picture of the fountain here:

Thanks!

I have the same one. Have you adjusted the flow of the water out of the spout.

Same one, same problem. Adjusting the flow like Ping said was all it took to fix it. I think it was just too fast for mine's preference.

Make the flow slower and give her time. It usually takes them a little while to get used to it.

That's not at all unusual. Bella played with ours for a couple of days before she would actually drink.

I have 2 of them but there not that kind, it takes a bit for them to get used to them. The first time they saw them they all started backing up
They acted like it was going to get them
But mine Love them now

You might also try putting some ice cubes in the reservoir to chill the water. She's used to the colder water dripping from a faucet.

Oh that's a neat fountain. I bought a blue one (different brand) before and all it did was leak all over the place. My cats did really like it, though. Where did you get that one, if you don't mind me asking. Can you buy it at a store or just online?

You should be able to buy it at places like petsmart and petco and also small pet stores. I bought mine online at amazon.

I have a different brand, but hopefully changing the flow like others suggested works for you! My cats LOVE their fountain. I swear Isadora thinks it's her own personal faucet. She likes to drink from the very top of the water flow because that's where the "freshest" water is

Wow, thanks a lot! I'll have to see if I can find one for them. I have two cats with urinary problems, so the more I can get them to drink the better!
