My new kitten is about 7 weeks old. How often does she need to be fed? And I read that you shouldn't just feed them dry food. I'm in the process of changing my 7 year old cat over to a half and half diet. Should I feed the kitten the same way?
Also, how do I switch my adult cat to a diet of part soft food, part dry food? He's used to having his dry food out all the time, and getting wet food as a treat.

if you can free feed dry kitten food and offer wet food up to 4 time s a day

for the adult .. offer wet a couple time s a day and gradually reduce the amount of dry

So are you not supposed to feed dry food to kittens?? Will it hurt them if you do??

7 weeks is pretty young to be away from mom/siblings. And at 7 weeks they barely have gotten started with eating solid foods.

I feed 5-7 week old kittens mainly canned food as its softer for them. At about 2-3 months old I add a dish of dry KITTEN food. You need smaller pieces for the kittens so its better for them to bite/chew. You can wet it down a little at first, then gradually make it more dry.

Kittens up to 4-5 months old can be free fed - after that give them scheduled meals.
