I had a dream last night and in the dream a masked/disguised/ninja-like figure said to me "the bamboo that grows on graves is the strongest". The bamboo he was referring to was indeed growing out of a grave mound and had a strange black and tan/beige striping.

I interpreted this to strength and resiliency that you acquire through your subconscious is the strongest kind of strength, sort of like instinct. Graves I took as past (long past, like through evolution), and subconscious, or unknown, and bamboo is known for it's resiliency and strength.

Anyone else have any other interpretations and any interesting quotes they hear /see in their dreams?

OR....it could just mean that the bamboo growing on a grave has more fertilizer under it!
Just kidding....I could`nt resist that...I really did`nt intend to smash your idea ....and I do think there are sometimes meansing to our dreams.
Whatever it "says" to you is what is important.

Its the opposite of a nightmare. Meaning during the day you will have terrible dreams. Just my Kiwi sense of humour getting the better of me

I wrote it in brackets but then deleted it, thinking people would understand

Thats why my location is "in my own world"
coz there, everyone understands me

Haha, warped dreams eh? I have my share of warped dreams, I think it's where I get my inspiration from, though I can understand how other people would be completely terrified if they were to have one of my dreams. I'm just too... what's the word... calm? that and I know it's just a dream.

Death is often interpreted simply as change (of any kind, good or bad). So I agree with your interpretation-- the things we learn from change are the most important lessons, and change can only make you stronger. By the other images, I'd say it's the sort of change you don't want. Like, that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger sort of thing.

I never have dialogue in my dreams, somehow it's all telepathic or else I just skip over the conversation bits. I've been having weird dreams lately-- my one from night before last I want to do a graphic novel of.

Yea I actually posted one on a different forum. Will have to try dig it up and post it here. Other dreams well as I said differently, people would have/call them nightmares. I don't see the difference personally.

"What is it that you want?"
"That's an interesting question, self."
Quote from my friend's dream! I think he wrote a song about it.

I had a very vivid dream the other morning. I woke up with the words of a little girl ringing in my ears "Who will know, mommy? Who will know?" She was talking about if her mum died (from breast cancer) then how would she still love her daughter for ever and ever. If she was gone, who will know how much they loved each other?
Very odd dream, don't know what might have inspired it.

Well last night I had a dream I was jumping off a cruise ship into a bunch of giant corn kernals. Like fresh or cooked ones, not pop-corn kernals. They felt really cool I remember.

Maybe you are craving corn on the cob or something. That's funny. I had a dream once about being a penguin.

Is it time to pick the sweet corn yet? I was driving back home from Michigan and I saw a couple signs that said "Sweet Corn for sale". Haha, my great uncle knew when to harvest his crops by his dreams, or whether he'd have a good or bad harvest. It was a very rare occurrence that his dreams were not dead on. Scary no?

Hmmm....I'll have to look when I go grocery shopping tomorrow! Most grocery stores in the area carry local produce and I know most fields are very high.

I can remember my dreams quite well but I can't think of any quotes from them.. wait, I have two. "If you hug the floor, you'll die" and "bury my by the river."

I couldn't find the thread I made on another forum. Maybe it was deleted??

Anyway yesterday morning was a pretty warped dream. This one isn't bad so I will share it.

I dreamed that I found a black and white kitten in the same place as I found Ryu, it was the middle of the night, so I snuck him home and decided I would give him/her a bath to kill the fleas and to clean him up. Next part of the dream we were in the bathroom and he had become an adult (that fast) and he was somewhat deformed, his left front paw had only three fingers (whatever you call them) and when he was stretching it looked rather disturbing. His right hind leg had no paw, it had been severed by something. I have no idea what happened next coz I woke up.

Doesn't it p*ss you off when your dream is nearly finished, you are about to find out what happens next and then BANG back into your own world

ETA no quotes in this dream. Except ":censor::censor::censor:" and "was it really a kitten just a second ago?" when he/she went from a kitten to adult cat in the space of a few seconds

Oh, sounds like a common dream. At the time they can be quite scary, one dream I had I was hiking along a trail and there was what I thought was a dog, just standing in the trail, motionless, but all it's skin was burned off and his eyes were glazed over. Or I'll be talking to my sister (I don't have one, but in my dreams apparently I do), and I'll turn away then look at her, and she'll be missing an eye. Warped though... well, I'll tell you the first part of a warped dream I had.

I'm with some girl in a dingy, dark, and deserted subway platform, sort of slime on everything, and apparently I agreed to being shot. We were arguing back and forth about whether to shoot me in the stomach or chest, and she kept insisting that getting shot in the stomach will result in quick death. So she shoots me in the stomach and runs off, and I'm sort of just chilling there, not really in a whole lot of pain, holding my intestines in, paddling in my own blood, waiting to die. I finally get tired and decide to lay down and I'm thinking "I freaking told her to shoot me in the chest". And right before I pass out, this old grizzled soldier finds me and tells me "you idiot, don't you know 60% of people who get shot in the stomach survive?"

That was maybe... the first 20% of the dream and had the interesting quote. A lot of the detail I truncated to keep the post short (sounds, smell, clothes, etc). The really warped part was in the entire dream, nothing really felt out of the ordinary, like all of it was just normal.

Other very eerie dreams. I'll get touched in a dream, like on the face, or shoulder, and I'll wake up and I can still feel the heat of the touch, or where the nail ran on my face, etc. though there will be no one in the room other than me.

I've had a dream similar to that. I was struggling with a man who had a silenced rifle and I ended up being shot a few times in the chest and stomach. There was no pain but as I lay down, I could feel the warm blood oozing out all over my torso. You know what happened next eh, thats right, I woke up, but I could still literally feel the warm blood. I was like wiping/rubbing my chest to make sure it was just a dream, I was soaked in sweat. Thats the most realistic vivid dream I've had.
I thought my assailant in the dream was the actor Tom Sizemore but then about 6mths later saw a picture of an Aussie mafia guy, possible hit man and
me if he didn't look just like Tom Sizemore and my assailant.

I've had 1 other animal rescue dream, which I looked up the dream dictionary to get the meanings. Its too long to post but the dictionary didn't point out any relevance of the rescue situation, just what the animals represent.

ETA the similar part being, waking up and still feeling stuff.
