Anyone else ever open a bottle of pop while driving, and have it over flow?

We had a couple of pop's in the cooler, I asked my daughter in back to hand me one (this was last weekend), so I open it (yes, while driving, but I was not putting on makeup at the same time!), hear an unusual sound,
look at the pop, and it's overflowing!! Right on my lap and steering wheel, while I'm driving!
The cap is so far untwisted that I can't just tighten it, pop is bursting out, while driving, I'm freaking out.
Pop is pouring down my legs and I can actually hear it puddlling on the floor mat; just like a rainy day!

Good times, good times!

I'll betcha that was a nice gooey mess to clean up later! Wonder what the result would have been if you'd gotten your daughter to open if for you? (depending on her age, of course.

You know that's probably just as bad as putting on mascara...
You might have looked down for an instant to see how bad it was and crashed into someone

You could have asked your daughter to open it for you as well. Or waited.
Hehehehehe.

Ha ha! I am a horrible pepsi addict and drink many bottles a day. I now automatically thump the top-yes, the small cap, right on the flat top, thump it with your knuckle a few times- before opening. This prevents most overflows.

Yup, that's happened to me before.

And the slurpee that topled over that I decided to try and clean up while driving.

I guess I shouldn't make fun of others that do stuff while driving

Oooo, next time I will ask my daughter to open it. (she's 10) I asked her if she shook it up for me, she said no of course, but I can't help wondering. . . . .

Drinking pop in the car? Unthinkable! Heresy!

Haha, I'm one of those "drinking/eating/anything that might potential produce a mess is forbidden in the car" type people. I even have a rubbermaid tub in the back (my car is kinda weird, only has two seats, and where the rear seats would be is a like a shelf for storage, if you've ever been in a CRX you'll know what I'm talking about) for anything that can potentially spill, like for when I though a drive-thru.

A bottle of pop? No.
A bottle of soda? Yes.

Same thing, I know, I just thought it was a little funny when I read the title. I've never once heard anyone in Massachusetts (where I'm from) call soda, pop.
