Ok so sometime today, tomorrow, or the weekend I get to pick up my new kitty. He is all black, 4 months, and his name is Oscar... Soon to be Osiris! Im really excited and I have so much to do.. I have to get him in to get his neuter, shots, and tests... Which I found an excellent and decent priced place to go to (unlike my original place)... and then I have to do the introduction between him and my two other kitties... Which is my only other concern. I am definitely going to seperate him from my other cats in the beginning... My older cat has been really crochity towards outdoor kitties he sees in the windows, and I would like to avoid having that kind of stress between the newbie and the dominant kitty. The two cats that i have now get along well. One is a female 11 month old kitty and my crochity old fat man is 5 (almost 6)... They love to play, but fatty gets tired out and likes to sleep alot, so I thought the kitten would love another active friend... Any words of advice to keep this a stress-free process. Im thinking of spraying some feliway by the door on each side of the room where the kitty will be contained...

I can't wait to see Osiris!
Feliway has definitely helped in my cat introductions.

Im a little worried about how the older cat will take after his violent spurts towards outside kitties (when he sees them in the window)... When I brought nollee home back in february he hisses, raised the hair on his tail and back, and moaned... That was about it, I also seperated the two... I hope the new kitty is a smooth transition and I hope my older cat doesnt go bonkers... It takes him awhile to warm up to newcomers!

Im hoping that I am just being paranoid... Ill have to watch the little guy and Im hoping that Tiger doesnt get ballistic like he does when outside kitties roam past his window or onto his porch...

Thanks, I get to pick him up on Sunday... I bought him his own little bed last night and now my kitten Nollee thinks she owns it (she already has a pink and white fluffy bed)... Im pretty excited to meet him!

One thing to keep in mind and its hard to resist a cute kitten; but you have to greet and acknowledge the older cats FIRST when you come home. When you pay more attention to the cute kitten, the jealousy of older cats comes through.

Give each cat some individual attention during the time you are home

Over the river and through the woods...
Congratulations! I doubt you will have too much trouble with the older cat, if he took to the other kitten pretty well (hissing and such is to be expected). He probably gets upset about the outdoor cats because he can't get to them and can't do anything about them. Indoors, it's different. He can make sure the new guy knows who is in charge (hence, the hissing). Most kittens don't put up much of a challenge. They are like "Ummm, ok. You're boss. Now, do you wanna play???". Good luck. And, can't wait to see pics!

Oh trust me this I know, all my kitties get equal love... Nollee maybe gets a little more from me because she craves it from me (sits on my lap, etc)... Tiger craves more attention from his daddy, Im his second best buddy. Kitty will get alot of attention but so will the other two... I want them to know they are appreciated the same... Plus I love my other two to death so i cant just ignore them when something new and cute comes along... Should be interesting. I get him sunday, so I will have to take some pics, in order to show you guys...

Im so excited... Im changing his name though... I do think Oscar is cute, however I am stuck on Osiris
I've wanted a black kitty forever. Of course I love all the colors of the rainbow, when it comes to kitties... but Ive been stuck on wanting an all black on forever. My kitten Nollee is going to be happy having another energetic playmate, and maybe even Tiger will eventually be happy having someone else to boss around
