I am sure most of ya'll read the 2 threads on my TOM issue. Well its still here. Today makes day 13. Since about day 9-10 its been a somewhat light version. 1-2 liners a day but still here. As much as I hate to say it and hate to do it if it continues till Monday or Tuesday I will have to go to the ER. I can't just continue on like this. I know this maybe TMI but its not the brown color like when you get towards the end of the cycle its still bright red bleeding so its new stuff not old. (end od TMI) I have no idea whats causing this. I have no pain or cramping just bleeding that won't stop. Keep me in your thoughts that this will end before then so I don't have to go to the ER.

I think you should go in Ping. It just isn't normal. Plus it will relieve your mind. Take care.

Please make an appointment to see your OB/GYN rather than going to the ER.

Bleeding outside of your normal cycle is NOT as uncommon as some would think, and there can be very specific reasons for it. This IS TMI, but I bled for two years STRAIGHT after going off the BC I took for 17 years.

I had several options: IUD, uterine ablation or hysterectomy, and I chose the latter, but only because I'd already had my tubes tied and was never going to have another child.

You are not hemorraging (sp) but you DO need to see your OB/GYN about this. It really isn't an ER kind of thing.

Please call to make an appointment ASAP - and keep us posted!

As I said I can not go to an OB/GYN. Everyone here is booked soild till the end of August even after I explained what is going on. None could get me in. Aside from that I can not out of pocket right now afford 250-300 just to see the doctor nevermind any procedures or bloodowork or anything else out of pocket right this second. The ER is my one and only option.

My tubes are tied and I take no BC and haven't for years. And I have never ever had this issue.

I'm sorry, I did not read your previous thread on this, but I'm confused - the ER trip will still cost you money, ER isn't free.

I'm sorry you are going through this and forget I said anything, I guess.

Yes I know its not free. But at the ER I set up a payment plan and pay over time. But if I go to any OB/GYN I have to pay everything up front. And that I can not do right now.

Is there any OB/GYN that is willing to set up a payment plan for you?
Can you speak with the doctor directly? Around here, they usually try to squeeze people in, esp. if someone has bleeding x many days w/o obvious reason.

Unfortunately, the people in the ER are not likely to be very knowledgeable about this & you'll end up waiting for a long time. Hopefully, they'll call an OB/GYN consult to the ER (when I did my OB/GYN rotation, there was always 1 resident who was on consult, u/s to the ER).

Again, sorry to hear you're in the situation. And best wishes to you for good health!

Believe me I have tried. I have tried everything. No one will set up a payment plan for me. I have cried and begged many doctors over the past few days and they all tell me to just go to the ER. All of them gave me quotes of 300.00 or more at time of visit. No payment plans no working with me nothing.

First off, I think its horrible that the OBGYN receptionists in your area can not squeeze you in. I'm thinking like the others and that this is more than just TOM. I didn't think that you could still have your period with your tubes tied (but I am only basing this on my mom who had her hysterecomy then never went off the estrogen patches).

If the ER is your only option I would definitely go there TODAY. Waiting another day or two isn't going to help, especially if the flow is consistant and not turning brown.

Good luck and I Hope that you find out what is going on!!!

Yeah even with tubes being tied you still have TOM. Only menapause or hysterectomy completly stop that.

That's horrible! Are docs in your area typically so chumpy?
I did my Family Medicine rotation in Manhattan (which you typically think of as $$$$), and even the private practice guy there would squeeze people in or work out a payment plan.

Office visit of $300 is typical for specialists, but I'm disgusted that no one is willing to work with you to help you in this situation. Are they super-jaded or just
jerks?!

In the meanwhile you might want to write down notes about your symptoms, e.g. map it out on a calendar, including amounts (e.g. about 1 tsp is more helpful than "a little"). Write down all your meds, allergies, OB/GYN history (incl. #pregnancies, miscarriages, infections, etc.), family history, and other conditions. This should help if you're faced with a not-too-together doc in the ER.

P.S. Where are you in GA? If you want you can PM questions, but I agree that you still need to see an OB/GYN sometime soon, as they'll have the special equipment/knowledge to best treat you. Again, I'm so sorry that the docs in your area are so
.

P.P.S. Haha!
If I were an OB/GYN, I'd give you a special "Ping" discount!!

Just another quick thought:

How about a Family Medicine doctor? They are usually trained a little bit in the basic GYN stuff. They're usually nicer people, too -- hate to subscribe to the stereotypes
!

A Family Med person might be more helpful & usually charges A LOT LESS than a specialist and is probably going to be more likely to help you with a payment plan. I know you've gone through a lot already
, but please give it some consideration
.

SouthEast Ga. Close to Brunswick Ga and Savannah and I have called every doctor between here and there to no avail.

As for how to tell them a close to exact amount that I don't know how to do that. I just know 1-2 panty liners a day.

First of all, even if it does stop, you've still got to go in! It happened for a reason, and you've got to find out why.

Second, Whiskery's right -- it doesn't have to be an OB/GYN! Any family doctor can check it out, and if you can find a female GP, she's likely to have lots of experience in the field.

Go! Go today!! Go NOW!!!

I don't mean to be insulting but what about a community clinic? They usually charge on a sliding scale, they send you a bill and you pay what you can.
I went to one for a pap a few years ago, they charged $400.00 but they said i could pay what I could each month.
It would be really stressful for me so wait all weekend, diagnosing myself, reading a bunch of scary stuff on the internet etc.

Just called the 2 in my phone book. 1 is permanently closed. Out of business I guess. The other one said all they could or would do is give me a once over with little assurance they can find whats wrong. And refer me to a gyno. And thats at a price of 165.00 and still be in the same boat of having to go to a gyno. Right now I am hating this.

We don't have one. All I have is the health dept. and all they can and will do when I go is a pap smear. Other than that they said I would have to see a gyn or go to the ER.
