2 weeks ago I rescued a small kitten (approximately 8 weeks old). He was not in good shape. He was getting ointment on his eyes for conjunctivitis and that has seemed to gotten better. He also had a wound with a grub in it and that is healing but not completely healed yet. He was treated for worms, ear mites, and fleas.
My question is this little guy acts good, eating, drinking, pooping, peeing, and playing but I think his cold might be getting worse. He sneezes a lot of snot out. I took his temp it was 102. Is he getting worse or all that snot coming out a sign of him getting better? Not sure if I am worrying for nothing or not.

Watching the robins sing!
Oh boy, You have your hands full! I am not the one to answer that question - but I will send vibes your way for the kitten's speedy recovery! But, I would worry about the "snot". That doesn't sound good to me.

You still have a young kitten, whose immune system isn't working at its best yet - and it's been assaulted with worms, fleas, mites and the bot fly. I would take him in to see if there is something to help him.

The snot should be cleared up by now. I would take him back in for another check up. You can't be too safe

I called my mother and she decided to take the kitten. It was my step dad's birthday yesterday and he loves cats. My mom said he could have the kitten and they would get it to a vet right away. I am so relieved to know the kitten has a good home and will get all the medical care he needs.

If the vet should see no need for meds for the kitten, I would recommend your mom getting some L-Lysine and mixing a quarter tsp. daily into wet food to help boost the immune system. I know most people use it for FiV+ or herpes cats, but one of the vets I use suggested that for my ferals as a matter of course a long time back for boosting the immune system when any symptoms are present.

Thanks for saving another fur baby and helping it get a good start!
