Hi again,
First of all I have to say, wow, having a kitten sure makes me feel like a new cat owner all over again!

Anyway...I have noticed that Sherman likes to chew on the sticky-out pieces of the sisal rope on their cat scratcher. Should I worry about him swallowing any of the hairs? There are no pieces that stick out more than an inch, and I don't think he could pull more out w/ his teeth...I dunno, it's just kinda wierd....

i don't think those stray hairs are too bad for them - i'm sure a bunch of it isn't good...everything in moderation

you might want to clip the hairs and see if he starts chewing on other things...could be a complex......luxor has this issue too - but i just try to stay on top of it. you don't want him to start ingesting ANYTHING that can fit in his mouth...

He may be teething. Get some big, fat bendy straws for him and have a few of them laying around. When they get all chewed up, replace them for the kittie.
