Do you think that the police over reacted?

I think that the Chileans are making too much of the situation because they are uspest by their loss. I think that the police were just doing their job.

I was feeling a bit bad for the Chileans until I read that one of them had said he woke up and the police were throwing acid in his face - what rot!

Sounds like their dialogue on what happened is being re-written daily. I heard that they even bashed out their own bus windshield.

Perhaps the police did over-react to some extent for fear it would turn into something very nasty like events that have happened at other soccer games, but I think there's enough blame to go around.

Also, if these young men are supposedly mature enought to travel to Canada (the host country) to represent their nation, they should be mature enough to conduct themselves appropriately and respect their hosts. I think the loss of the game did have a bearing on the emotions being so high. But there again, they should be mature enough to handle the loss.
