Hello

One of our Kittens Bailey has had pretty bad diarrhea for the past few days, he's eating what his sister eats and she seems fine. Last night though i noticed him going in the tray and it seemed very watery and he stayed there straining away when nothing was coming out but blood.

We havent had them wormed yet, could this cause it or would it be something more serious?

He is eating fine and playing away like a mad thing so no other signs of him being ill.

Thanks

Shellie

Please take your kitten to the vet immediately. Diarraha and blood do NOT mix well with a kitten. That's a sign of something very wrong.

My mum said she has seen him go today and it was still soft but not as bad and no blood.

He is nine weeks old and we have had them for three, ive heard stress can cause it but he is settled in now, other than that there isnt anything wrong with him.

it could be a number of things and we are not vets and can not see the kitten so we can only give advice, i agree with golden kitty he will need to see a vet plus he needs to start his shots now anyway so you can get it all done at once.

Hello

Thank you to everyone who gave me some great advice.

We took both Bailey & Fudge to the vets this evening to be registered, checked over and vaccinated. Both were given a full bill of health. I advised the vet on Bailey's recent upset tummy and he assured us that it wasnt any more than tha fact he is eating too much!! We knew that anyway but its hard when he gobbles everything down so fast then nudges Fudge out of the way and finishes hers off. So its all down to him passing far too much through his little tummy. Phew, so we can relax now and begin with even smaller meals more often, the little ganet!

xx
