My step-father had asked me a few weeks ago if I had a picture of Angel (she passed away on the 12th) so he could enlarge it. I told him I did, but it would be better if he had the negative and I told him I would look for a negative for him. He said that was fine.

Well, I then decided I would just go ahead and enlarge the picture myself, frame it, and then give it to him as a gift for Christmas. So I enlarged it.

Well, don't you know that there are two gifts under my parents' tree that are about the same size?! One for me and one for my mother. I REALLY think he went ahead and took a picture from my mother and had it enlarged without a negative.

I was suspicious so I asked him if he still wanted the negative and he said no..he didn't. So I KNOWWWW this is what he did.

Now...I have this great picture of Angel enlarged (the one I did) and I don't know what to do with it. Yes, I would LOVE to keep it...it is wonderful! But, that is not what I had planned. At the same time, I don't want to look like an ass. This is like the SECOND time this year that he has messed something up for me for Christmas. The first thing being he went out and bought something for himself which was something I already HAD wrapped under the tree for him. Nice, huh?

SSOOOO...do I keep the picture for myself or give it anyway?

I am sooo MAD!

Movin' on up!
Carrie, why don't you just wait and see what the other present is? If he did have the picture enlarged, sort it out, then. Either way, it is a nice gesture, on his part.

He probably used one of those photo machines where you don't need the negative. If the gift is a duplicate, keep it yourself. If not, no harm. From the way you tell it, sounds like it was his idea first after all.
