if she dosnt do it (give her time) then you can take a sterile pair of sharp sisours SP? get some dental floss tie it about 1 1/2 inchs from where its attached and cut the cord on the other side of the tie off, this will stop them bleeding from it. but do give her a chance, sometimes they eat the afterbirth which is attached then cut the cord.

My first rex queen would NOT cut cords - she'd do everything else. So I was always right there for every litter's birth. I'd tie the cord with dental floss and then gently cut (with small sharp scissors) the other side of the cord away from the kitten.

Then hand the kitten back to mom to finish cleaning up.

I would NOT wait around to see if she will or won't cut cords.

i dont mean wait ages, but wait untill shes finished what she is doing, anne broke the sack then ate the after birth then chewed the cord. fluffy only chewed one of the cords and i had to do the other 3, i think you sort of know when to interveen SP?

I'm thinking she is done. She is feeding the kittens right now.Could i feel her belly to check if she still has kittens? Will she act a little more aggressive.Could i touch the kittens?oh and yes she did cut the cords. The first kitten took a while. She would stand up and be dragging it but then she figured it out.Is there still a chance there is more kittens? i mean one hour has gone by since the last kitten was born.

It can take a few hours for the last kitten to be born compared to the rest (nothing to "push" it down....lol As long as she's not in hard labor for a long time with no results, you are ok.

But yes you can touch and handle the kittens to check them over. Don't do too much handling the first week or so, but check them daily (once or twice). You don't want mom to be too nervous and don't take the kitten out of sight from mom.

If you handle them from day one, by the time their ears/eyes are open they will be a lot more used to you and won't hiss quite as much

it was so cool cuz i got to experience the whole thing.I even got to watch one of them come out.The last one.The second one seems to be the strongest.

Here they are.I think her nest box is a little crowded what do you guys think? I think she was planning on having them on the ground because like i said when i walked in she was meowing very loud. Then like 10 minutes later the first one came.so i was proud of myself that i put her in her nestbox.im also very proud of her.she did great.I think the whole process took about 5 hrs.so here's the pics.
