I've never used this vet for surgery. This is the first time I have been able to get any of the strays that I take care of fixed. To tell you the truth i don't think i have seen an incision so long before. its 2 1/2 inches. it seems tight enough.

She has taken the whole thing surprisingly well. She doesn't seem to be in any real pain. She was sore yesterday and moving gingerly and the area of the incision was hot to the touch and a little oozy but she didn't seem to have a fever at all. This morning she is moving much more easily and the skin around the incision is a normal temperature but its kind of red and irritated looking.

I'm probably just paranoid. Shes eating well and pooping and peeing and even wants to go outside.

Sounds OK to me. I would just keep an eye on the incision to see if the redness starts to go away. If it doesn't in a couple days, give the vet a call and ask them about it.

Good news. We do worry about out fur-babies don't we. I swear I'd notice something wrong with Bijou before I'd notice something with my husband.

I'm glad she's doing better!! 2 1/2 inches does seem like a very long scar, but it sounds like she's doing fine
