Have you ever seen 1 of your cats choke?

The newest kitten cooper was just sitting on the floor sounded like he was wheezing and was pawing at his mouth.

His mouth was wide open he was panicing and he kept pawing at it like he couldnt close it?
I grabbed him (yes now im all scratched up) and quickly had to put him back down since he was still clawing everything and now he seems ok cleaning himself off.
His paws are soaked from rubbing his mouth with them.

Any ideas of what could have happened?

The only time I've seen that is when Wickett was still coming out of sedation from his spay. It was like he had something caught in his throat and was trying to paw it out.

Does the kitten have access to hard kibble? Maybe he had something stuck? Glad he's ok now but I'd keep an eye on him to be safe.

yeah I dont know. Hes sitting on my lap still trying to nurse me (wonder if he will ever grow out of it). He seems ok. But yeah he seemed to have something stuck. I was ready to rush him to the vet (its only 2 blocks away) but when I had to put him down cause he was scratching me he seemed fine. He is sitting here watching me type this. Wonder if he knows im talking about him.

I have seen cats display this behavior when trying to rid themselves of a stubborn hairball.
