Today I received a sample, big box of the stuff (along with 3 other big boxes of other brand samples.) and my cat kept trying to jump up on the table to sniff the box that turned out to have the Chicken Soup in it. I thought, "Well, she's a cat and has sensitive sense of smell she must smell the food in the bags/cans." Well, when I finally opened the one box with Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul, I discovered one of the bags had busted inside the box. So, I was like, "Okay that explains definitely why she was all on the box." So, I go over and put some down in her bowl.....
She freekin FLIPS OUT!!!
She is shoving her head in the bowl, eating like she is starving. (this cat is so well fed she has a fat pouch hanging down) I have NEVER seen her act this way to any type of food. With her regular food (Friskies Chef's Blend.. I know it's crap food.
I have learned much recently since coming here about cat nutrition and am looking for a better quality food hence me getting all these samples) so.. with her regular food she'll come and let me know when she's hungry. I'll put down the food and she'll go and eat like 3-4 kibbles and then walk away and graze on that all day. With the Chicken Soup.. she ate the half a handful I put down and was beggin for more. I walked over to put more down, here she comes running like she's on fire and she ate all of that handful!! She wanted more after that which I didn't give her. Also, when she eats her regular food, "Chef's Blend" she always takes a kibble in her mouth, backs away from the bowl and crunches it, and drops crumbs all over the floor. When she was eating the Chicken Soup, her head was shoved in the bowl and she never backed away making a mess like she always does. Sorry to type so much but this was so CRAZY how she freeked over this particular food. I've been giving her samples of other brands I've been getting and she hasn't really been interested. I guess I've found the winner huh?
